Transferring credit
Many classes at your current or former school may be transferred to KU. However, you must submit official transcripts of completed coursework before a final determination can be made.

KU uses a Transfer Equivalency System called CredTran. Please read the following information before you continue:

The information on CredTran is provided as a guide to how classes at your current or former school are transferred to KU. The fact that a course appears in the list is no guarantee that the course will transfer in your individual case. You must submit official transcripts of coursework completed to the KU Office of Admissions and Scholarships before a final determination can be made.

Also, the fact that a class is listed from your current or former school is no guarantee that the school is currently offering the course or plans on offering the course in the future.

CredTran is subject to frequent revision. The date at the bottom of a particular school listing reflects the latest revision date for transfer equivalencies from that school. Also, we will be adding schools to the list on a regular basis, particularly those schools which have provided a large number of transfer students to KU in the past.

I have read this and understand.  I am ready to check my transfer credits now.

Here are some important things to keep in mind while using CredTran:

• The fact that a course appears in the list is no guarantee that the course will transfer in your individual case.
• After you are accepted to KU we will officially evaluate your transcripts. Apply as early as possible as some courses take time to evaluate. You will receive an Academic Requirements Tracking System form (ARTS) just before attending New Student Orientation. This form lists courses transferred to KU.
• If the course or school you are looking for is not on the list, we will evaluate those courses after you have been admitted to KU. Keep in mind, KU does not accept any courses that are remedial, vocational or technical in nature.
• Just because the course may transfer to KU does not mean that it will fulfill a requirement. See Understanding the Codes for more information.

KU uses codes to designate how courses fulfill some graduation requirements. For example, the letter code H designates a course in the Humanities category. Please review the following list of codes before you access your school's transfer equivalency screen. For questions about how your transfer courses fit into a particular degree program at KU, please contact the academic advisor for your major.

What if my course or school is missing from the list?
That does not necessarily mean that the course does not transfer or that we do not accept credits from that school. It does mean that we have not had a request to transfer that course from that school. We will evaluate that course when you are accepted to KU.

What if the same course is listed twice but showing different transfer equivalency?
If a course is listed twice and is accepted differently at KU, please contact the Office of Admissions & Scholarships for clarification. These courses transfer differently depending on the semester the course was taken.
