Fee Grants
The University of Kansas has established a program to provide a grant to cover the cost of the admissions application fee for economically disadvantaged students applying to KU. This fee grant program is subject to availability of funds.
To be considered for eligibility, a student must meet one of the following requirements:
- Receives an ACT/SAT Fee Waiver
- Participates in the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program
- Participates in Project Discovery
- Participates in GEAR UP
- Participates in one of the Federal TRIO programs
- Upward Bound
- Upward Bound Math & Science
- Talent Search
- LULAC
- Student Support Services
- Educational Opportunity Center
Only complete applications will be reviewed for a fee grant.
If an incomplete application is received, the student will be required to submit a $30.00
application fee in order for the admissions/scholarship application to be processed.
The student will also be required to submit any missing materials.
Only hard copy admissions applications with all supporting materials will be accepted if a student is asking for a application fee grant.

download and print
the application or request that one be mailed to you.
The following must be submitted with the hard copy application in order to be complete:
- Application for admissions and scholarships (hard copy only)
- High School transcript/College transcript
- ACT/SAT scores (high school students only)*
*Transfer students must submit test scores if they have less than 24 college credits at time of application.
Test scores will be considered official if listed on the official high school transcript.
If not, the student must have the test scores sent directly from ACT and/or SAT to KU.
- Fee grant application with counselor/liaison authorization/signature
- Scholarship Essay (scholarship applicants only)
- Co-curricular summary (scholarship applicants only)
