Fee Grants
The University of Kansas has established a program to provide a grant to cover the cost of the admissions application fee for economically disadvantaged students applying to KU. This fee grant program is subject to availability of funds.
The high school counselor or program director must submit the fee grant application form below.
To be considered for eligibility, a student must meet one of the following requirements:
- Receives an ACT/SAT Fee Waiver
- Participates in the Federal Free/Reduced Lunch Program
- Participates in one of the Federal TRIO programs (such as Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math & Science, Talent Search, Student Support Services, Educational Opportunity Center, LULAC)
- Participates in Project Discovery
- Participates in GEAR UP
- Participates in 20/20 Leadership Program
- Participates in AVID
- Selected as a Kauffman Scholars
- Participates in ECO Program (Expanding College Opportunities)
A complete freshman application includes:
- Application for admissions and scholarships
- Select the fee waiver option on the payment page of the online application
- High School transcript/College transcript
- Senior year class schedule
- ACT/SAT scores
- Fee grant application with counselor/liaison authorization/signature
- Scholarship Essay (scholarship applicants only)
- Co-curricular summary (scholarship applicants only)
