Transfer Student Timeline
A successful transfer involves planning ahead. Follow these steps to success.
September / October
  •  Schedule a visit with KU's Campus Visit Coordinator by calling (785) 864-3911 or register online at: http://www.admissions.ku.edu/visit . or e-mail visit@ku.edu.
  •  Apply for admission and scholarships at KU. You can apply by paper application or online.
   •  Apply for student housing or e-mail the Department of Student Housing at housing@ku.edu for a paper application.
   •   If you are interested in learning more about transfer credits or AP/IB credits, please check our Admission Requirements.

November / December
   •   Apply for admission and scholarships if you haven't already.
   •   Apply for student housing if you haven't already or e-mail the Department of Student Housing at housing@ku.edu for a paper application.
   •   Search and apply for private scholarships.
   •   Visit campus if you haven't already.

January / February
   •   Obtain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your college financial aid office, or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Apply by March 1 and list the KU code, 001948.
   •   Search and apply for private scholarships.
   •   Apply for student housing if you haven't already or e-mail the Department of Student Housing at housing@ku.edu for a paper application.
   •   Visit campus if you haven't already

March
   •   March 1 is the final deadline to apply for transfer scholarships. All supporting materials must be received or postmarked by this date.

April / May
   •   Review financial aid and/or scholarship offers
   •   Final deadline to apply for admission is May 1.
   •   Register for summer orientation
   •   Make sure your final transcripts have been forwarded to the Office of Admissions and Scholarships.

June / July
   •   Attend summer orientation program to register for classes and learn how to navigate the many services, resources, and opportunities at KU.

August
   •   Become a Jayhawk!
