Financial aid options
60% of KU students receive some form of assistance. The university annually awards more than $100 million in these four basic sources of support funds:
Scholarships
- KU academic scholarships for transfers are administered from the Office of Admissions & Scholarships (whose Web site you're at now!)
- Other KU scholarships, often administered by non-academic departments or outside agencies.
- Private scholarships from agencies outside KU.
- State scholarships for Kansas residents administered by the Kansas Board of Regents.
Loans
Many educational loans carry a low interest rate. Loans that may be available to you include the Federal Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loan, and the Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students. Go to the KU Financial Aid Office's Loans page to learn how to apply.

Part-time jobs
Many part-time jobs, including Federal Work-Study positions, are available on campus. Possibilities include library or lab assistant, cafeteria worker, clerical worker, custodial worker, and peer adviser. Minimum wage at KU is $7.50 per hour.
