What can I do on a campus visit?

Be sure to block out some time — we have a lot to show you. Please allow three to four hours for your visit, which besides a campus tour may include meetings with faculty, visits to residence halls or a stop at a band rehearsal.

Let us introduce you to KU

Your visit will include an overview of KU in an hour long group presentation by the Admissions and Scholarship staff, a one-hour walking tour of the beautiful campus guided by a student ambassador and an opportunity to take an optional residence hall tour. If you give us at least 10 business days’ notice before you plan to visit, you may request to meet with a faculty member or adviser in your field of study. We also offer free parking in the Visitor Center parking lot and free rides on the Visitor Center bus.

Explore on your own

You will also have the opportunity to stop by a KU choir or band rehearsal; learn about financial aid; visit a fraternity or sorority house with a Greek Ambassador (only on selected dates and times); visit Allen Fieldhouse, home of KU basketball; eat in Mrs. E's award-winning dining hall; or attend an event at the Lied Center – among many other options.

Get all your questions answered

Learn more about KU traditions, academics, student housing, admissions, scholarships, financial aid, famous alumni and clubs by talking with staff, students and faculty and picking up brochures and other printed materials. Plus, just being on a vibrant and bustling college campus is invigorating and informative.

When does KU offer Campus Visit days?

We offer many choices of days and times. See our schedule below.
Fall 2009: September 8th – December 10th

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Presentation and campus tour

Mondays and Fridays
12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Presentation and campus tour

Wednesdays
Reserved for high school group visits of 25 or more

Select Saturdays
9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Presentation and campus tour
(No academic appointments)

Note:
  • KU will be on Fall Break October 15th-18th. Presentations & Bus Tours of campus will be offered Thursday, October 15th & Friday, October 16th. No academic appointments will be offered during Fall Break.
  • No presentations or tours will be offered on Saturday, October 17th.
  • On Monday, December 7th we will only offer the afternoon presentation and campus tour from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • KU will be on Thanksgiving Break November 25th - 29th. No presentations or tours will be offered during this time.
  • Reservations for visits are required. Visit days do fill up quickly, so make reservations early and before booking travel arrangements.
